We live in a world of wanting certainty, rigid goal setting, and comparison—so much so that we can overlook the simple since it doesn't always have the magnetism of the newest health and wellness trends. But if you want to speed up your progress in reaching your optimum version of health—it may be best to slow down first and take the time to check in with yourself using the below three questions. Make 2020 the year that you created a truly holistic approach to your wellness goals.

Note: This exercise takes about 30 minutes, so get cozy and grab your favorite cup of something, and a pen to write with. You're 90% more likely to achieve your wellness goals simply by writing them down! (Psst–if you're at work, text the blog article to yourself to come back to it this evening).

QUESTION 1: Am I where I want to be with my ideal wellness routine?

You may not think it, but wellness comes from a grounded sense of defining and then following that desire of where you want to be in life and how you want to feel. If you're searching for a body that feels well, it often starts from defining what specific goals you have, and how you plan on getting there. You don't need months, a dietary expert or a fitness guru to tell you what you want. You already know it (and probably think about it often).

From more sleep (to better sleep), healthy meals, more active movements, stretching, time with friends (and a glass of wine–or two), all-natural solutions for discomfort in the body... The list goes on, but the point remains—you know where you want to be, and it's time to define that.

ACTION: Set a timer for 5 minutes and list out everything you want your health to be (nothing's off-limits). After your timer dings, set it for another 5 minutes, and re-organize your list in order of what feels most important, (and voila!) you have what you've been scared to do for months now–a very simple, created by you, goal sheet of what YOU want.

QUESTION 2: What can I cut out of my life that causes me stress, overwhelm, and unease to keep up with a consistent wellness routine?

We all have life pressures and moments that cause a normal amount of everyday tension (that's why we created our line of Calm & Centered CBD products). We believe in handling those everyday moments with tact—but beyond that, it's imperative to evaluate the people, experiences, and responsibilities we allow within our life that cause unnecessary tension, overwhelm, and unease and step aside from them. Although difficult, you are your #1 to take care of yourself. No one else will do it as well or consistent as you.

ACTION: Set a timer for 5 minutes and write out a list of experiences and responsibilities that drained your energy this year and why you'd like to say "no" to them in 2020. And yes, "no" is a complete sentence. 😉

QUESTION 3: Has my wellness routine made progress? If not–why?

Even with the best of intentions, life can derail even the most disciplined. Awareness is powerful. BE KIND to yourself and simply focus on removing the emotional response of 'I failed' and change it into 'what can I learn from this experience?'. This mindset will allow you to lean into 2020 knowing what potential events to be prepared for, so that you can better handle them next time, without losing focus on your wellness.

ACTION: Take a moment to jot down some of the events in 2019 that caused your intentions to shift, and how you will prepare yourself to better handle (or even eliminate them) in 2020.

Beautiful job!

You now have three very important lists to help you lean into a holistic approach to your 2020 wellness goals and routine. Keep this list safe, and look at it often to remind yourself of what you already know you want.
