At Sagely Natural’s we’re big proponents of the power of nature’s ingredients and from the day we started the company in 2015 we’ve been committed to creating CBD-infused products that support whole self wellness. But these are interesting times for the cannabis industry and its most popular compound, CBD—here’s what we think you can expect for the future of cannabis in 2019 and beyond:
CBD: A Huge Step Forward
The passing of the Farm Bill in late 2018 was a huge step forward for the cannabis industry. Removing industrial hemp from the prohibited Schedule 1 drugs list and allowing licensed farmers nationwide to grow industrial hemp more freely will help take CBD to the next level of legitimacy.
More Federally-Approved Clinical Trials
Speaking of legitimacy—we expect that more federally-approved clinical trials of cannabis will now be able to take place over the coming years. This is an incredibly exciting prospect as it will enable wider-scale human studies that can further expand our understanding of CBD and advance research past the preliminary stage.
More CBD Offerings, But Buyer Beware
While the new Farm Bill legislation paves the way for CBD to break through into the mainstream, there are still some nuances to understand before you snap up anything labeled as ‘CBD’ or ‘hemp’. Buying a CBD topical or CBD capsule that adheres to strict quality standards and understanding the hemp plant it is still up to you, the consumer, to get clear on—but we think it’s worth it for the peace of mind.
From CBD Curious to CBD Master
Cannabis curiosity has been building over the past few years. As such, many savvy consumers have already prioritized their wellness, done their homework, and are opening up a whole new world of natural offerings, like CBD.
Will the Endocannabinoid System Please Stand Up?
Expect to start hearing and understanding a lot more about the body’s endocannabinoid system. This little-known network is a major bodily system—it’s what compounds like CBD (a cannabinoid) interact with. Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune system and, when activated by compounds like CBD, promote a healthy balance of mind and body.
We believe the versatility of the cannabis plant and CBD, in particular, is at the heart of what we consider a wiser way to wellness. There is still a lot of work to be done in the cannabis space to ensure quality and consistency of products but the new Farm Bill being passed is just one example of how light is being shone on the world of CBD. We continue to believe that the future of cannabis is very bright and look forward to continuing to provide plant-based wellness options so you can love how you feel every single day.
